From water to table, the taste of sustainability
OASI PROJECT
Producing food efficiently, locally, and regeneratively thanks to aquaponics
About us
OASI is an agricultural innovation project that brings together companies, institutions, and research centers to develop efficient and sustainable recirculating aquaponics and hydroponics systems.
We work to create replicable production models with low environmental impact and high nutritional value, capable of responding to the climate, water, and food challenges of the future.
Technology, circularity, and quality for a new agriculture.
OASI responds to the challenges of modern agriculture, such as water scarcity, climate change, and land consumption, with innovative recirculation systems capable of producing safe, nutritious, and sustainable food, reducing waste, and optimizing the use of resources.
Born from the experience of SmartAP, OASI takes aquaponics experimentation to the next level, introducing decoupled systems, digital technologies, the use of brackish water, and circular solutions to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
The project
Traceable, pesticide-free vegetables with a short supply chain
Up to 95% less than conventional agriculture
Reuse of vegetable waste, residues, and sludge for new production cycles
Suitable for small spaces, urban greenhouses, and vertical farming
Automated monitoring and management with IoT
High-value products and new market opportunities

Package
How the Project Works
WP1 – Coordination
Technical, financial, and organizational management of the project, including progress monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
WP2 - Recirculating systems for fruit plants
Design, construction, and optimization of hydroponic and aquaponic systems for fruit plants.
WP3 - Recirculating systems for leafy crops
Development and management of hydroponic and aquaponic systems optimized for leafy vegetables.
WP4 - Recirculation systems with brackish water
Testing and optimization of soilless cultivation with brackish water for salt-tolerant and halophyte species.
WP5 - Output enhancement
Transformation, promotion, and circular reuse of waste from recirculation systems into new agricultural products.
WP6 - Environmental and economic sustainability
Assessment of the environmental impact, economic sustainability, and market opportunities of recirculation systems.
WP7 - Communication and outreach
Dissemination of results via the web, social media, events, courses, and consulting to promote transferability and replicability.
Events
OASI promotes workshops, guided tours, and cooking demonstrations with Farmer-Chefs to raise awareness of sustainable farming technologies and give visitors the chance to taste vegetables grown responsibly.
An opportunity to discover, learn, and taste.

Oasi di Gusto
OASI DI GUSTO is the first event within the project, bringing together innovative agriculture, sustainability, and gastronomic culture.
Here, land meets water, and traditional farming knowledge merges with new technologies to create pure crops and authentic flavors.
Farmer-Chefs, botanicals, rare vegetables, and ornamental fish will take center stage in a journey through taste, local heritage, and future vision.
